Some reception staff are very friendly, senior members can be very rude and unhelpful. Suitcases left visible in hotel when asked to keep for the day before going to airport. selection at breakfast was better in the past. communal areas are very nice and clean. location is excellent.

The hotel is well located - you are directly opposite the Acropolis tram stop where journey's cost just €1 each way. You are 10 mins walk to the old town and 15 mins to the beach and the Port. There are plenty of local stores in the area and the train station at Nice Riquers is only 10 mins away. The views from the roof terrace are nice enjoyed a coffee but didn't use the pool. Rooms are clean and serviced every day. Only comment would be that we did not receive many toiletries - stayed at the nh Marbella previously which offered a lot more bathroom amenities and a wider breakfast buffet offering. The nice waiter on the roof terrace was helpful pointing out where the bus and train stations were located. Reception provided us with a local map Which proved useful. You get a code from reception to access the wifi or the computers in the lobby - 30 mins comp. We had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend this hotel.
Top Tip
A taxi to/from the airport is €40 however the cabs are of a high spec and are very convenient. A trip from Nice Riquer train station to Monaco costs €6 each return (20 mins away, very busy trains) - a trip here is a must!!! A trip to Cannes is also worthwhile at a cost of €12 each return (45 mins away).

The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. They always try to speak to you in English. They are efficient and professional. The hotel is very close to town, excellent link to bus, tram and to railway. The rooms are large, very clean, modern and excellent air conditioning. The food is excellent especially the huge selection at the buffet breakfast. Amazing, clean rooftop pool, with panoramic views of the city.
Top Tip
Go to the Chagall musum, Palais Lascaris and stroll down the promanade at night. Try Maison de la Marie in the evening for dinner. Take a trip by train to Monaco (10 mins away) and Cannes (45mins away). Trains to these are very cheap and very regular.

I occupied room 316. The hairdryer in the bathroom overheated within minutes. It became too hot to hold. Could you please inform the maintenance service?
Top Tip
Familiarize yourself with the tram service. It is quick, easy to use and cheap. Excellent.
Take care when using the small park between the tram and the hotel. We saw a hotel guest being robbed of her bag one evening in that area

WE FOUND THIS SOFITEL TOO FAR FROM THE SEA FRONT IN NICE. THE STAFF WERE PLEASANT BUT UNHELPFULL UNLIKE OUR STAYS IN OTHER SOFITELS. THE PAY TV CHANNELL DID NOT WORK AND WHEN THE STAFF WERE ASKED TO FIX THE PROBLEM THIS WAS REFUSED. WHEN WE REQUESTED A SANDWICH FOR SUPPER WE WERE TOLD WE COULD HAVE CHIPS BUT A SANDWICH WAS NOT ON THE MENU SO IT WAS UNAVAILABLE. WE WERE NOT INFORMED THERE WAS CONSIDERABLE NOISE FROM EXTENSIVE WORKS OUTSIDE THE HOTEL AND THERE WAS A LACK OF INFORMATION DUE TO THESE WORKS
