take the local bus along the Riviera - its just one Euro a journey regardless of how near or far you travel - Villefranche is a lovely little village and well worth a visit

Fantastic location. English speaking staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are typical French cities - very sqeezy if you have luggage. Clean and comfy.

We went to a really nice beer hall for dinner, called Augustiner Keller, which was within walking distance from the hotel (hint: booking is a good idea)

We couldn't fault anything about this hotel - it had been recommended by a friend and we were extremely impressed. The staff in particular were knowledgeable and very helpful about everything we asked them - in particular car hire, train travel and places to visit. Hotel is in a pedestrianised street with an endless choice of restaurants and bars, a very cosmopolitan atmosphere and street sellers & talented artists creating before your eyes keep you entertained in the evenings. Get the number 98 bus from the airport (cost €4 each).
